Proposed Law To Limit Information On Driver’s License

May 8, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A proposed law that makes sure a driver’s license does not contain too much information has been sent to Governor Bob Holden by the Legislature. The key is the magnetic strip on the back of the license. Currently, all it has is the same information that is found on the front of the license. Senator David Klindt of Bethany wants to keep it that way. He fears the Revenue Department would like to see quite a few pieces of information attached to that strip. If Governor Holden signs the bill, the Revenue Department would have to get legislative permission to put anything else on that magnetic strip.
