Mike Sweeney smacked three hits including a home run to support 7 1/3 strong innings from Jeff Suppan as the Kansas City Royals won for the fourth time in five games, taking a 6-3 decision in Toronto. Sweeney’s dinger was his sixth of the season, all six have been hit against the Blue Jays. Mark Quinn added a two-run triple in the seventh. Suppan is now 2-3 after striking out six while on the hill. Roberto Hernandez got the final three outs for his sixth save. The Royals return home tonight to open a three-game series with Cleveland.
