Senate Votes For Tax Holiday

May 1, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Senate has voted to give some Missourians a four day tax holiday in August. The Senate says Missourians who are getting kids ready for school each year should have four days in which no sales taxes are charged for school clothes and supplies. The sponsors of the legislation say there should be no sales tax charged on clothing valued at $100 or less, and up to $50 in school supplies. No limits would be placed on the number of trips people can make to the cash register. It will take another round of voting to get the bill out of the Senate. It would then be sent to the House.
