The Kansas City Royals avoided a three-game sweep in Tampa Bay by blanking the Devil Rays 6-0 on Thursday. Mac Suzuki was brilliant in this one, pitching eight innings and allowing just six hits and a walk while striking out four. Suzuki is now 2-1 on the season. Dee Brown led the charge at the plate knocking in three runs and hitting his first major-league home run, a two-run shot off Bryan Rekar in the fourth inning.
