An extension of term limits for State Legislators is halway to a date with voters. It’s curently eight years and out under the law adopted by voters. A proposed extension of legislative term limits from eight to twelve years has been approved by the State Senate. If the House goes along, the issue will go to a vote, probably next spring. Some lawmakers believe Representatives and Senators need more than eight years to become effective legislators.
