A new arena for University of Missouri basketball is a step closer to reality. The Missouri House has voted 84-72 to issue $35-million in revenue bonds to build a new arena. The arena will cost $75-million. An anonymous donor has pledged $25-million. The university expects to make up the rest of the money through smaller private donations. The arena would replace the Hearnes Center, which was build in 1972. Hearnes would be used for other activities.
