Despite a pair of home runs from rookie third baseman Albert Pujols, the St. Louis Cardinals lost to the Houston Astros on Sunday 4-3. Richard Hidalgo knocked in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning sacrifice fly. Wade Miller earned the victory for the Astros, going eight innings while striking out 13. Billy Wagner struck out two in his inning of work to pick up the save. Pujols hit his first home run in the fourth inning, a two-run shot. He then tied the game with a solo blast in the seventh. Pujols is hitting .375 thus far with six home runs and 16 runs batted in. The Cardinals are off tonight.
