Southeast Missouri Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson is back from a junket to Cuba in which she promoted Missouri rice. She calls the trip a good beginning to what might be a mutually beneficial relationship. She’s part of an effort to try to convince Cuba to buy Missouri rice and other American foods. Despite the current embargo, U.S.-Cuba food sales are legal, provided they are made through a third party. Emerson says the next move is up to the Cubans.
