The search goes on for programs or personnel that can be cut from the state budget in an effort to free up money for programs and people needed elsewhere. Florissant Senator John Schneider has spent hours looking for cuts in the budget that will make money available to give pay raises to state workers in the next fiscal year. Schneider has been focusing on the Department of Mental Health, saying the central office in Jefferson City is bureaucratic and top heavy.
