Bobby Bonilla doubled and homered, knocking in a pair of runs as the St. Louis Cardinals avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 3-1 win on Wednesday. This game came down to pitching and in the end, Darryl Kile was better then Randy Johnson. Kile pitched seven strong innings, allowing five hits and just the one run. The “Big Unit” went the distance in defeat for Arizona, allowing just five hits and three runs. He finished with 11 strikeouts. The Cardinals are now 7-8 on the season and enjoying a day-off today.
