Governor Bob Holden is asking state agencies and departments to squeeze their pennies a little harder. Sales tax is down in the state – down more than expected. That has prompted the Governor to call on state agencies to hold the line on spending for the two-and-a-half months left in this fiscal year. And, he would like them to even increase frugality. Holden says no agency is exempt from his orders. He says he does not know why sales tax revenue continues to slump.
