Horse Racing Bill Moves Through House

April 18, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Prospects for horse racing in Missouri get a boost as the House approves a horse racing/pari-mutuel bill. Despite arguments that horse racing has been tried before in the state and has failed, the bill has won approval with one vote to spare. The bill would require a $50,000 spplication fee, at least fifty days of live racing, and a $25-million investment in a track the first year. The legislation now moves to the Senate.
