Governor Tries To Block Shipments Of Nuclear Waste

Governor Bob Holden is taking steps to try to stop the planned shipments of nuclear waste through Missouri later in the year. He’s sent a letter to U.S. Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham, outlining his opposition to plans to ship the waste from German research reactors through Missouri on its way to a storage facility in Idaho. The shipments are scheduled to enter Missouri sometime this summer.
