A modification of the legislative term limits law has advanced in the State Senate. The Constitution says State Representatives and State Senators can serve no more than eight years. Senator John Schneider wants to change the Constitution to limit service to twelve consecutive years in each house. The Senate could send the issue to the House next week. If the House agrees, Missourians would vote on the matter next year.
