Mark McGwire hit his first home run of the season, helping lead the St. Louis Cardinals to their fifth-straight win on Wednesday, 3-1 over visiting Colorado. Ray Lankford also went deep for the Cardinals to support the strong pitching of Matt Morris. The young righthander went seven innings, allowing just the single run on six hits. He struck out five. The Cardinals are now 5-3 on the season and they go for their sixth straight win this afternoon at 12:10 against Colorado.
