April 11, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

It was a devistating loss for the Kansas City Royals last night at Kaufman Stadium. Royals lose to the New York Yankees 9-5 as closer Roberto Hernandez gets torched for five runs in the top of the ninth inning, eliminating a 5-4 Royals lead. Yankees get three runs batted in from Chuck Knoblauch and Michael Coleman in the win. Coleman actually started the ninth-inning uprising with a solo home run off Hernandez. Royals are now 2-6 on the season, 0-5 against the Yankees. Jermaine Dye had a couple of hits including a home run and three runs batted in for Kansas City.
