An effort to reduce the number of billboards has gained tentative approvel in the State Senate. The Senate has approved a plan saying no more permits will be issued for big, new billboards. And, companies wanting to tear down two old ones first. Eventually, Missouri would have no more than 11,000 big billboards. The measure could go to the House in a few days.
