There’s a call for public executions, and it comes from an unlikely source. Death penalty opponent Sister Helen Prejean, author of “Dead Man Walking,” took part in an anti-capital punishment rally at the State Capitol in Jefferson City. Sister Helen says carrying out executions in the dead of night behind prison walls is not right. She’s calling for the shroud of secrecy surrounding the death penalty to be lifted to allow Missourians to see the ultimate penalty carried out.
