Pronger Returns; Blues Still Lose

April 2, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Despite the return of defenseman Chris Pronger from that fractured forearm the St. Louis Blues lost their third straight on Sunday, dropping a 2-1 decision in Columbus.Ron Tugnutt was the hero for the Blue Jackets, kicking away 29 shots between the pipes. Pronger did assist on the Blues only goal, scored by Pierre Turgeon. St. Louis has now lost three straight and they now have no chance to win the Central Division. St. Louis’ loss coupled with Detroit’s 2-1 overtime win against Washington gave the Central Division title to the Red Wings.
