Governor Bob Holden has issued an executive order reestablishing the Family Investment Trust, which oversees the spending of state money for Missouri’s caring communities. The trust gets a new name – the Family and Community Trust, or FACT. Governor Holden says the change involves more than just the name. He says there will be added accountability with the new program to demonstrate to the average citizen that the money is being well spent. The trust will spend money on such isues as health, mental health, public safety, and social services.
