Brendan Shanahan snapped a 2-2 tie with his 30th goal of the season late in the second period leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. Shanahan’s goal came with just 25 seconds remaining in the second period, Red Wings then went on to outscore St. Louis over the final 20 minutes 2-0. Blues are now 2-8-4 over their last 14 games and last night’s loss all but clinched the Central Division for the Red Wings. Detroit now leads St. Louis by seven points with only five regular season games left to play. Cory Stillman and Daniel Corso scored in defeat for St. Louis.
