The process to determine districts in Congress is underway, and it involves drawing lines – not counting votes. Redrawing Missouri’s nine Congressional districts is the responsibility of the State Senate. Population shifts in the last decade make it necessary to try to equalize the population in each of the districts. Three Congressional districts will have to become smaller, geographically, because of population shifts. Six others will grow because of those population shifts. A preliminary map of our new Congressional districts could be ready next week.
