Final day efforts are underway to save Potosi Prison inmate Tomas Ervin from his scheduled execution at one minute after midnight Wednesday morning. An appeal has been filed with the federal appeals court in St. Louis, and the Missouri Catholic Conference has asked Governor Holden to extend clemency. Ervin and another man, Bert Hunter, were convicted of killing a Jefferson City woman and her son during a house robbery in 1988. Hunter was executed nine months ago.
