The University of Missouri has taken its case for a new basketball arena to the State Capitol. University officials want help from the state – $35-million in help. They’re asking lawmakers to consider selling revenue bonds to help raise that money as part of a joint effort to construct a $75-million arena. Part of the difference would be closed by an anonymous $25-million donation targeted specifically for an arena. No bill calling for financing has been introduced. But a House committee has held a hearing to give lawmakers a chance to gather evidence in the event that a bill is introduced and a formal funding request is made.
