Consumer and political heat generated by the big natural gas price hikes this past winter has resulted in the formation of a 49 member task force to look into what might be done to avoid similar episodes in the future. Consumers, legislators, utility officials, and some city officials will start work in April and file recommendations for new laws or new Public Service Commission policies later in the summer. Heading the effort is Warren Wood, the manager of the P.S.C.’s natural gas department.
