Rick Ankiel’s second start of the spring was a flashback to the 2000 postseason for the St. Louis Cardinals. The young lefthander walked eight batters in just an inning and a third of work, taking the loss in a 6-4 decision against Florida. 36 of the 66 pitches Ankiel threw missed the strike zone and he walked the first five batters he faced. Ankiel walked just one batter in two innings in his first start of the Grapefruit League season.
