Five Senate bills dealing with children and the family have been put under one umbrella, approved by a Senate committee, and sent to the full Senate. Senator Betty Sims of St. Louis is the primary sponsor of the big new bill, which deals with everything from visitation rights for parents and grandparents to raising the amount of money spent on foster care. Putting the various bills together as one is intended to improve the chances of gaining a slot on the Senate’s legislative agenda.
