The Quest For A Simple Majority

There is a good deal of debate in the General Assembly over the best way to take care of school building needs. Members of the House have already approved placing before voters the question of whether the four-sevenths majority required to pass school bonds should be lowered to a simple majority. The Senate must now consider the simple majority bill. If it approves the measure the issue will go to a vote of the people.
