Antonio Richardson is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection early Wednesday morning for his role in the rape and murder of two sisters in St. Louis County in April of 1991. Richardson and two other men were convicted and sentenced to death for the killings. Julie and Robin Kerry were sexually assaulted on the Chain of Rocks Bridge and forced to jump 70 feet into the Mississippi River. The body of one of the sisters was found near Carruthersville about three weeks later, while the body of the other woman was never found. Once the courts have had their say, the final hope for Richardson will rest with Governor Bob Holden. Holden says he and his aides have been reviewing the case, as they do all death penalty cases. He says the life or death call is the toughest decision any governor can be asked to make. — More on capital punishment in Missouri at: https://www.missourinet.com/CapitalPunishment/
