It’s been two almost two months since Bob Holden was sworn-in as Governor of Missouri and he is still appointing department directors. The new head of the Social Services Department is Kathy Martin, a former deputy director of the department who has been there for 12 years. Former Representative Scott Lakin of Kansas City is the new head of the State Insurance Department. He served in the House for eight years and was an insurance agent for 16 years. Department of Natural Resources Director Stephen Mahfood keeps his job, and Catherine Leapheart stays on at Labor and Industrial Relations.
