Mark McGwire will remain in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform at least through the year 2003. The two sides agreed on a two-year contract extension yesterday worth about $30-million dollars. McGwire negotiated this deal without the benefit of his agent. The 37-year old McGwire missed most of the second-half of last season with a knee injury but still managed to hit 32 home runs. He is in seventh place on the all-time home run list with 554.
