Two quite different viewpoints have emerged among members of the Missouri House on how they handled their first budget decision. House Budget Chairman Tim Green has sent a budget bill without a 127 million dollar transfer from the national tobacco settlement to the Senate. That money would have covered an expected shortfall. Green says the House has sent the Senate a deficit bill, but House Republican Leader Catherine Hanaway calls it a projected deficit. She says this is not a budget crisis, adding Republicans are willing to stand with Democrats and Governor Holden to deal with the expected shortfall.
