St. Louis Cardinals righthander Garrett Stephenson is being shut down until at least Monday with pain in his throwing elbow according to today’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Stephenson has been bothered by this pain since the end of last season. Season-ending surgery is a possibility for the 29-year old pitcher who won 16 games in the year 2000.
