Bond questions ed secretary

February 17, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Senator Kit Bond invites the new federal education secretary to Missouri as the secretary talks about President Bush’s education plan before a Senate panel in Washington. Bond tells Education Secretary Rod Paige he still favors a piece of legislation he sponsored last year that would send federal education dollars directly to local school districts. Paige responds by saying he believes all levels of government need to be involved as long as they have the final product–the teacher and her classroom–in mind. As for the invitation, Paige accepted.
