Once again the St. Louis Cardinals avoided arbitration with an eligible player. On Tuesday it was righthander Matt Morris agreeing to a deal rather then taking part in a hearing. The 26-year old signs a one year contract worth $1.2 million dollars. In 2000 Morris went 3-3 with four saves and a 3.57 ERA.
