House Republicans propose Missouri follow the lead of Vermont and ask permission from the federal government to allow all elderly Missourians living within three times the federal poverty level to qualify for the Medicaid drug rate. It would retain the current $200 prescription drug tax credit. Governor Holden would scrap that program to create a catastrophic drug plan from tobacco settlement money that would cover all drug costs after the first $1,500.
