MU hospital cuts hundreds from staff

February 9, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

More jobs are being trimmed at the University of Missouri Columbia health care system. University Hospital Director Keith Weinhold has announced the system will cut another 413 jobs, bringing the total trimming to 668. Though most of the jobs have been eliminated through attrition, 166 have been cut through lay-offs. The system hopes to save $40 million, and is trying to stave off massive budget shortfalls. The system employs 4,000 people in Columbia.
