The Kansas City council has approved a plan to let sharpshooters kill hundreds of deer near Kansas City International Airport. More than 500 deer could be located in the immediate area. Airport manager Bob Johnson is worried one of them will jump a fence and cause a collision with an airplane. He says they have previously tried changing the habitat near the airport and introducing cattle in the area to make the place less appealing to deer. The harvested venison will be donated to charity.
