Westminster College Political Science Professor Kurt Jefferson doesn’t buy into the liberal criticism of John Ashcroft’s record. He admits Ashcroft may campaign from the right, but says he tended to be centrist as a governor. He also doesn’t think Ashcroft will use the office to pursue his conservative causes. He believes Ashcroft will be very loyal to Bush and will follow the President’s orders. Jefferson has written extensively on Ashcroft and written a book on Christianity in world politics.
