Kansas City’s Health Department Director, Rex Archer, is promising improvements in food inspections. He blames low wages which make it difficult to keep quality employees. Archer plans to report back to a city council committee in the next month with a plan to improve salaries. He plans to recommend a user fee on the restaurants, to help pay for better salaries and twice as many as employees.
