Missouri man murdered in Equador

February 2, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

A man from Sunrise Beach kidnapped from an oil drilling operation in Ecuador last October has been found shot to death. A note with the body of Ronald Sander says he was killed because the oil company he worked for would not pay the ransom his kidnappers demanded. Sander was from Sunrise Beach, a community at the Lake of the Ozarks. Sander is one of ten workers kidnapped last fall. Authorities say the kidnappers demanded $80 million ransom from the oil company, which is based in Tulsa.
