A state supreme court ruling has done little to clarify whether Planned Parenthood can be excluded from receiving state family planning money. The court has vacated a lower court ruling that found the legislature could restrict the money, but also returned the case to the court for further argument. Still, St. Louis Planned Parenthood President Paula Gianino sees the ruling as a blow to the special assistant attorney general. However, Jordan Cherrick merely views the opinion as a small procedural delay. The court asked the attorney general to clarify Cherrick’s authority in the case, and asked the lower court to take into account federal family planning guidelines.
