Blunt calls for uniform balloting

January 29, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

The report of Secretary of State Matt Blunt’s commission on electoral reform has submitted its report to the Legislature, and there’s a call for the creation of a uniform voting system. Blunt says changing to a uniform system does not mean changing to just any system, but choosing something that won’t be obsolete in just a few years. Blunt says he realizes it could cost $5 million to update and improve existing systems. And he’s not sure there’s money in the budget for that change this year.
