One of the nation’s biggest theatre chains will be closing hundreds of movie screens in the next few years. AMC Theatres of Kansas City reports the new mega-plexes are far outpacing theatres with six to eight screens. Company Spokesman Rick King won’t disclose which theatres will be closing where, but says they’ll shut down 70-75 theatres per year over the next four years. AMC has theatres in 550 locations throughout the country.
