Attorney General Jay Nixon wants to find out if the natural gas industry has done anything wrong in setting up higher prices for heating fuel this winter. He’s going to look into any possible collusion in the wholesale market. The Public Service Commission recently approved a 44% rate increase for Missouri Gas Energy, which serves much of western Missouri. Nixon says he wishes the PSC had waited until his investigation as done before taking that step.
