Former Missouri Farm Bureau executive Lowell Mohler has been nominated by Governor Bob Holden as State Agriculture Director. Mohler, 64, worked for 26 years as chief administrator and corporate secretary before retiring in 1996. He worked as marketing director for the State Dept of Agriculture from 1966 to 1970 and also worked for the National Livestock and Meat Board in Chicago and in marketing for the Kansas State Board of Agriculture. He raises corn and soybeans as well as commercial sweet corn and asparagus on a 200 acre farm near Jefferson City.
