Holden predicts roads progress

January 25, 2001 By admin Leave a Comment

Holden announced today he is committed to passing a new transportation funding proposal during this legislative session. Until now, the governor had only offered lukewarm optimism it would happen. He’s not giving his total support to Jim Mathewson’s proposal, however. He says parts of that plan may have to be revamped. That bill would raise the gas tax two cents and the state sales tax one cent in an effort to raise $650 million a year.
