An HMO with more than 400 employees in the Kansas City area is shutting down its 4 medical offices. Most of the membership contracts held by Kaiser Permanente are being sold to another HMO in Kansas City. Kaiser has 55,000 members in the area. About 2,000 people will be left without insurance in the deal.
