Key members of Missouri’s black community are rallying around civil rights activist Jesse Jackson. The Baptist minister admitted, after reports in the National Enquirer, that he had fathered an illegitimate baby during an affair with a staff employee at the Rainbow coalition. Former Kansas City Mayor and Methodist minister Emmanuel Cleaver says people will forgive Jackson, but predicts the religious right will use the indiscretion to persecute him.
