It didn’t take long for Congressman Sam Graves to return to Missouri. Shortly after being sworn-in in Washington, Graves returned to Jefferson City for the inauguration and a chance to talk with former colleagues in the state legislature. Graves says it took a while to hit him that he was no longer a state senator, but a Congressman. Graves has been assigned to three committees: transportation, agriculture and small business. He is the first Congressman from Missouri to serve on the ag committee since northwest Missouri Congressman Tom Coleman, who lost his re-election bid in 1992.
